At Lower Plenty Veterinary Clinic, we have digital x-rays for dogs, cats and other pets, that are quick and non-invasive. The images taken are quickly processed meaning shorter waiting times for both you and your pets. These images are useful in treating your pets aches and ailments. X-rays may require sedation/pain relief for painful procedures such as bone fractures.
In addition to general x-rays, at Lower Plenty Veterinary Clinic, we also offer dental x-rays that can be used to assess tooth roots for infections and additional information on the health of teeth under the gums.
We are always happy to answer any queries you may have. For more information call us on (03) 9439 0777.
Ultrasound is a painless procedure that uses sound waves to produce an image.
Ultrasound can be used to visualise any abnormalities of the lungs, heart, stomach, kidneys, liver, gall bladder, spleen, pancreas, adrenal glands, intestines, adrenal glands, lymph nodes, blood vessels, prostate gland, ovaries, uterus and urinary bladder.
Sampling masses or abnormal fluid can be guided with ultrasonography. Pregnancy ultrasounds and fetal heart rates can also be completed.
At Lower Plenty Veterinary Clinic, we try to make the ultrasound procedure as pain-free and stress-free for your dogs, cats and other pets. When an ultrasound is to be completed, your pet must be clipped in the area of interest and at times sedated to ensure minimal restrain and reduce stress.

We also provide in-house blood, urine and sample testing which can give us results in as little as 30 minutes. This allows us to check for any underlying issues prior to surgery, or in non-urgent cases a greater bodied health screening.
For more extensive samples we hold relations with IDEXX Laboratories Inc., an external pathology service which collect from us twice daily. We will always endeavour to report back to you as soon as results become available.
